                                             Til Last Breath

This body of work captures the artist’s profound personal reflection on mortality and memory through the lens of his dog, Funky, whose time on earth is limited. The artist grapples with an emotional and conceptual tension: whether to adopt the role of a photographer, creating an enduring visual archive of his companion's final moments, or to immerse himself fully as a present and attentive owner. By engaging with these dual roles, the artist examines the relationship between documentation and lived experience. The work not only memorializes Funky but also delves into the broader theme of how photography mediates human connections. It raises questions about distance, intimacy, and the ethical implications of being both an observer and a participant in moments of significance. Through this exploration, the artist reflects on the inherent compromises of balancing the act of witnessing with the desire to preserve, revealing the complexities of his emotional and professional identities.
